Study On Outdoor Communication Space Of Mining Units Community

Experienced a long development process, the outdoor space and the living conditions of many mining unit communities are not updated in a timely manner. The existing conditions cannot fully meet the living demand of residents currently, and it produced certain influences on people’s outdoor activities. Different with traditional unit communities which contains production buildings, production facilities and residential buildings in a comprehensive form, this thesis studies mining unit coomunities in Xuzhou which only have residential buildings inside because of the particularity of its production facilities(mines), and this type of residential units generally exist in the mining city.In the sample mining unit’s communities, according to the survey, the lack of communication space to do collective activities is a prominent problem. This thesis will study the space types of collective activities required, then put forward the reform proposal which is based on this type of outdoor space in mining unit communities. The analysis on this issue can be divided into two aspects: What are the characteristics of the residents’ outdoor activities, especially the collective activities? What is the typologic characteristic of this kind of communication space? This thesis takes Xuzhou City as an example, and selects two units communities, Xiguan Beicun residential area and Pucha residential area as subjects to research. It analysis the characteristics of communication activities in the unit residential area by using the behavior mapping method, then starts from the two dimensions of time and space, and combine elements of gender, age and other subjects, to find the number, type and frequency, the relationship between the activity and outdoor space in unit residential areas. According to the relationship between the activity and the space, the characteristics of outdoor space to do collective activities can be found. After that, the typology analysis method is used to extract and restore the plane, section and interface of the three layers of the communication space in the unit residential area, and the space prototype was acquired.As above, this thesis conducts combination design of the prototype space in mining unit communities, and concentrates on how to do restructuring design of outdoor space in order to meet residents’ demand of collective activities, then solves the core problem of required communication space in sample mining unit communities.The author hopes to build a more caring outdoor communication space of mining unit communities and makes reference value for the outdoor space design principles, which is based on qualitive and quantitive analysis of outdoor activities and communication space in samples mining unit communities in Xuzhou, supplemented by relevant environmental behavior theory and the type of construction theory as the guiding theory.
