The city’s subway system has played an important role in easing urban traffic pressure. Therefore, strict requirements are needed to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the subway. The problems about how to realize accurate positioning and how to ensure any two subways against collision have become the focus research. Combining with some related auxiliary systems, this paper expatiates the functions and requirements of the subway auxiliary safety driving system. And against the regional controller and signaling system failure of the communication based train control(CBTC) system, this paper propose a subway auxiliary safety driving system.Firstly, this paper puts forward a kind of train positioning and speed control algorithm with wireless coverage which is for regional controller failure in CBTC subway signal system. This paper also does some examples to show that the proposed algorithm is suitable for the case of the regional controller failure to ensure the subway system’s security by positioning and speed control.Secondly, for the case of signaling system failure, this paper puts forward a distance calculation method based on the received signal strength indication(RSSI). And with the proposed method, this paper designs a kind of subway auxiliary safety driving system which can be compatible with a variety of the subway signal system. Through the analysis of measured data, we can get that the proposed system can realize distance detection and train positioning under certain conditions. Finally, this paper designs and implements the proposed subway auxiliary safety driving system on VB software platform. Particularly, the design steps of the whole system are introduced in detail and the operation process of the system is described.
