Research On The Adaptable Design Methods Of Cultural Complex

Under the premise of increasing resources constraint and advocating intensive using habits and the policy of developing cultural infrastructure in China’s government, it becomes an upsurge to practicing and constructing Cultural Complex, recently. By integrating several cultural function buildings for different capability in public spaces, Cultural Complex make land resources usage efficiently and intensively, and use several main part at the same time, which helps to providing a new idea of cultural infrastructure in urban development. However, under more and more real practicing for Cultural Complex, due to lack of theories systems and research supporting, it is always hard for designers to overlook relationships among the huge projects, the corresponding city and land base, and the internal functions’ relationships, which causes the side effects, including poor excessiveness, in-accessibility, awareness.Therefore, this paper is to study on the adaptable design methods of Cultural Complex, from macroscopic scale, midium scale and microcosmic scale. By exploring three issues, this paper tries to research and look for efficient strategy and theory of the adaptable design methods of Cultural Complex.On macroscopic scale, the entry points of the research include the position, dimension, and location of the cultural complex. By observing wether the building matches and integrates the whole city, I want to answer the question that "How could cultural complex be adaptable to the city"On midium scale, the issues are elements of the site, such as urban public space, activities and transportation. The research try to find a balanced point between the cultural complex and the site, and solve the problem that "How coul cultural complex be adaptable to the site"On microcosmic scale, cultural complex needs inner balance of it own, and virtous cycle in operation. Thus, the research talks about the programmes, space organization as well as operation model and post-evaluation system of the cultural complex.Furthermore, this paper shows a case practicing for the discovered theory, by taking the design of Zhanjiang Culture Centre as an example. Based on real practical thoughts and achievement, this tests whether the discovered adaptable design methods is effective or not.
