As a kind of renewable energy, both the new installed capacity and total installed capacity of wind power have achieved a rapid growth in recent years. Because of the randomness and fluctuation of wind power, large-scale wind power integration brings more uncertainty to the power grid, which seriously affect the dispatch and control of power grid, resulting more wind curtailment capacity. The thesis focused on the research on the wind power integration capacity and economic dispatch problem under different application scenarios and phases, and related results are beneficial to guide the construction of power grid planning and ensure the safety, quality and economy of power grid operation. The main research contents and results are shown as follows:1、Based on the present definition of wind power integration capacity, the paper puts for-ward a more adaptive definition of wind power integration capacity. It is stated in detail through some practical examples.2、For the specific power grid, supposing that its generating units, load demands and op-eration parameters are all given data, but the wind power forecasting results are unknown. Un-der the above precondition, the wind power integration capacity through the whole period is assigned as the optimizing objective. The wind power integration capacity is studied by opti-mizing the up-down statuses and power outputs of generating units. The main factors influenc-ing the wind power integration capacity are studied through the practical examples. The results are beneficial to guide the construction of power grid planning and the formulation of dispatch plan.3、Given that the generating units, load demands, operation parameters and the wind power forecasting results are all predetermined, the wind power curtailment capacity and the operating costs spanning the whole period are assigned as the optimizing objective. The method of for-mulating an appropriate dispatch plan is designed by optimizing the up-down status and outputs of generating units. The results are beneficial to improve the wind power integration capacity and reduce the operating cost.4、For the specific dispatch plan, the up-down status and outputs of generating units are predefined data. The reserve capacity of each generating unit at each time are calculated in accordance with time. The remaining reserve capacity is analyzed considering the load reserve and emergency reserve. The wind power integration interval can be calculated finally with the specific dispatch plan.
