Cars have been already used as the primary mode of transportation and its interior air quality becomes the most important factor that affects people’s health. In view of this,it has a very realistic significance to develop a portable, high-reliability, simple-operation and low-cost detector which can really get the type and content of the polluting gases.This topic has designed an in-car air quality detector used for detecting styrene and formaldehyde.The detector can display gas concentration and the current environment temperature in real time,and can cause sound and light alarm at over-standard concentration to remind occupants that which kind of gas is over-standard. It also takes SD card as a medium to store data about the harmful gas concentration of different period which provides the basis for the in-car air quality analysis.The hardware of the detector system includes a C8051F020 as its main control chip,a gas sensor array used for detecting the concentration of harmful gases, a SD card slot for expansion to save the data of gas concentration,and a gas path part for collecting. In the part of software design, module idea is adopted and the functions related with hardware such as data acquisition, storage, display, sound and light alarm are realized.At the beginning of the research, by using LabVIEW in PC to develop software as an auxiliary tool,we compensate the temperature factor of surroundings when collecting the data of gas concentration and realize the calibration of the gas concentration.After series of software and hardware debugging,the result of the experiment shows that the interior air quality detector we designed meets the requirement of the system design,operates well and has a high practical value.
