Since the reform and opening up, along with the continuous improvement of people’s living standards the automotor ownership is increasing. In order to meet the needs of automotor owners to develop and enhance the performance of the automotor has become a necessary trend. Front side rail are an important part of the whole skeleton of automotor body, on the performance of the vehicle collision plays an important influence, Therefore, applying advanced materials in automotor front side rail, by studying the influence of different materials on the front side rail strength, to gain more excellent performance is very important.According to the present application situation and technical achievements of high strength steel in the automotor at home and abroad, based on the existing automotor front side rail, combining structure theory knowledge to design 3D model using CATIA software to build the automotor’s front side rail, combined with the project requirements, selected ordinary steel and advanced high strength steel materials used in automotor front side rail. Then import the Hypermesh front side rail finite element analysis model is established, using LS-DYNA software solver front side rail strength analysis of different materials, by comparison with ordinary materials and advanced high strength steel verified advanced high quality material effect on the strength properties of parts; Finally combining the finite element analysis results, the high strength steel in the application of advanced automotor front side rail reasonable structure optimization, and the calculation and analysis, to further improve the front side rail strength and energy absorption, which lays a foundation for improving vehicle performance.
