With the rapid development of the commodity steel processing and distribution industry at home and abroad, the construction of steel processing equipment requirement enhances unceasingly. Technical progress and product updates of steel processing industry are faster and faster. At present, although remote monitoring system of industrial equipment develops rapidly, it is still a blank in steel processing equipments.Some company is a leading enterprise which products steel processing equipment in our country. According to the actual needs of steel processing equipment upgrades of the company, this article establishes a real-time monitoring system. The main monitoring variables include oil, motor speed, shaft vibration, the register and coil value of PLC, the register value of the servo and device location information. The main research contents include the following six parts:1、The article analyzes the machine types and determines the key parameters required to be monitored in the monitoring system.2、According to functional requirements, the article sets up the overall architecture of monitoring system and makes the analysis about the feasibility and advantage of monitoring system.3、The article completes the design of the hardware circuit of the remote monitoring system. It includes the design of hardware circuit about PLC communication, servo driver communication, GPS module communication, PLC program remotely download, the RFID reader and equipment status sensor with micro-controller unit, etc.4、The article completes program development of the micro-controller unit. It realizes the collection and control of the key parameters about sensor data, PLC equipment parameters, servo drive equipment parameters, GPS location information by micro-controller unit.5、The article realizes data transmission between micro-controller unit and remote monitoring host by using three kinds of GPRS, WIFI, Ethernet communication mode. The article makes GPRS as the main communication mode to complete the programdevelopment of micro-controller unit about communication module.6、The article completes the software development of PC monitoring system using the LabVIEW software, which can remotely query and write parameters of PLC, parameters of servo drive, GPS location information and sensor data, etc.This design of the monitoring system innovatively applies embedded control technology into steel processing equipment; enables remote control, and can advance to prevent the occurrence of equipment failure in remote, harsh and inaccessible environments;remotely downloads the program of the PLC in steel processing equipment; uses GPRS,WIFI, Ethernet three communication mode for data transmission; can remotely monitor,control and position.This design of the monitoring system is currently being used in some of the equipment performance testing, and after further refinement it will be into the market.
