With the rapid development of industry of our country, demand for pressure vessel has increased year by year. The safety and reliability of the pressure vessel relationship is in connection with people’s life and property safety, and also with the healthy and rapid development of economy, so using the Non-destructive testing technology can accurately evaluate and monitor the welding quality in manufacturing, which is an important measure for manufacturing reliability and the later period service safety. And the X-ray testing technology as a representative of the pressure vessel nondestructive testing methods, the feasibility and accuracy of its application and the guiding role in repairing the defects has been an important issue concerned by enterprises. However, there are a lot of mistakes in the application of X-ray detection technology in the actual production, especially the feasibility of its application, the selection of parameters and the accuracy of the evaluation in welding defects.This topic selection models for XXQ-2505 type ray machine as detecting tool, proceed from the fundamental principles and rules of X-ray testing, it determined the basic shooting method and steps, and also designs the production plan of exposure curve. Using the ladder block experiment can get the focal length exposure curve and thickness of the Q345 R base material, which is the block exposure curve. Finally, it also can get the exposure curve diagram about thickness and time and making use of this diagram verifies the fact that the X-ray can inspect the welding quality and defects.According to the pressure vessel of a certain company, the ray detection scheme is formulated, and the grade determination method and standard of welding defects are summarized according to the national standard. Use the X-ray testing techniques to evaluate the welding quality and grade of products, to analyze the cause in unqualified welding. Then it can put forward measures and suggestions in repairmen and reform, and provide technical supports to ensure the reliability of the welding quality.
