Pedestrian-vehicles interactive operating status widely exist at urban signalized intersection. When pedestrian and vehicular traffic conflicts occur, it will lead to social conflict, traffic congestion, and even causing bodily harm and economic losses in traffic accidents. As part of the urban transport systems, safety and efficiency of Pedestrian-vehicles interactive has an effect on the whole intersection. This paper worked on the base of the preliminary work for project application of general program by the National Natural Science Foundation of China "Influences of Misbehavior on Urban Traffic Safety and Efficiency and Corresponding Countermeasures".The safety and efficiency of Pedestrian-vehicles interactive at signalized intersection are analyzed, each factor characteristic of Pedestrian-vehicles interactive are analyzed. The position of Pedestrian-vehicles interactive area is determined according to signal controlling factor, according to the traffic characteristics of pedestrian and vehicles in Pedestrian-vehicles interactive area, pedestrian-vehicles interactive status is divided as pedestrian avoid vehicles status、vehicles avoid pedestrian status and not avoid each other status. Depending on the security situation the three status are divided into dangerous state and security state. Combined pedestrian and vehicles’ operating status the safety and efficiency is analyzed. About safety, through the analysis of pedestrian-vehicles interactive risk behavior, determine the criticality safety gap of pedestrians crossing the street. According to the different operation characteristics, the traffic flow of Pedestrian-vehicles interactive is divided into free flow and dissipation flow. Combining with the traffic flow theory the risk of pedestrian level model are established. And analysis, combined with the field survey data the model is analyzed for example. About efficiency, select the average delay of pedestrian and vehicles passing through the Pedestrian-vehicles interactive area is analyzed as efficiency characterization. Depending on the security status of the different traffic conditions average Pedestrian-vehicles’ delay model is established, and combined with the field survey data to the model is analyzed for example.
