With the improvement of life quality, the shopping malls have transformed the single shopping function to multiple-function, and the indoor environment is casual and comfortable, which contains shopping, dining, leisure, entertainment, ect. However, the large flow density of the department store and the complex heat source(decorative spotlight) affect the amenity of the indoor environment. Most of air-condition comfortableness parameters in functional zone just adjusts by tenants and consumer complaints, instead of the indoor and outdoor dynamic parameters. It’s hard to meet the comfortableness requirements of the people in the shopping malls, and it’s harmful for energy saving in air conditioning system. Therefore, the research of thermal comfort in department store has important significance for improving the indoor air thermal comfort and reducing the energy consumption of public buildings, and guiding the design and operation of public building energy saving. In this paper, a large-scale comprehensive shopping mall in Dongguan city be taken as the research object. Combining with the conduct of members of the subtropical region in winter cooling environmental characteristics, we launched a site investigation of people’s thermal environment comfort requirements in the winter which contains four typical function area: public leisure area, department store area, dining area and entertainment area. The thermal comfort model of four typical functional areas in winter was established, and be applied to the environment parameter optimization of the terminal management control system of the air conditioner in the market. The survey results show that the regional environmental comfort has improved the public leisure area by 6.4%, the department store area by 3.5%, the dining area by 8.3%, the entertainment area by 3%. The research results can provide a reference for the optimization of hot summer and cold winter area public buildings in winter indoor air parameter design and energy-saving operation. The main work of this paper includes:(1) The general situation of the research object, the condition of the air conditioning equipment and its operation, and the status of indoor thermal environment comfort are introduced in detail. For the mall each functional area and comfortable indoor thermal environment of the problems, subjective questionnaire is designed, and embodiments of field research is developed, and also from the test subject background and active, being tested by the mall environment subjective thermal reaction and chamber internal and external aspects of environmental parameters and three findings were statistically.(2) The relationship between thermal comfort and thermal sensation and wet sensation of four typical functional areas in shopping mall was analyzed by statistical results of field research. The analysis results show that the slope of the regression equation between the average clothing thermal resistance and the indoor temperature of the other three functional areas is larger than that of the outdoor air temperature; The average clothing thermal resistance of the public leisure area, department stores, food and beverage areas increased with the increase of the average thermal sensation, while the recreation area was the opposite; The relative humidity range of four typical function areas were public leisure area 30% to 70%, department store area 40% to 70%, dining area 30% to 70%, entertainment area 40% to 55% and 60% to 65%..(3) By using linear regression analysis method, the PMV model and MTS model of four typical functional areas were established by field survey statistics. The comparison results of the two models show that there is a difference between the mean thermal sensation vote of the MTS model and PMV model. Because PMV model does not consider people’s adaptability to local climatic conditions and the type of building function, thus, the paper chooses MTS model to establish adaptive thermal comfort models of four typical functional areas of mall in winter which is in subtropical region.(4) Finally, the paper uses the existing air-conditioning terminal management control system to apply the above adaptive thermal comfort model, which optimize the temperature set value of air conditioning units in four typical functional areas of shopping malls. After optimizing the operation, the results of the questionnaire survey showed that the comfort level of each functional area of the shopping mall was improved, where the public leisure area was increased by 6.4%, the department store area by 3.5%, the dining area by 8.3% and the entertainment area by 3%.
