Smart grid is the trend of the future development of the power grid and it is the transition of the power industry development and management in the future. The Smart Grid energy(wind, solar) can not continuously produce energy, So the power is needed to be stored in order to ensure continuous supply and power dispatch. This requires storage batteries to charge and discharge continuously. Based on the accurate system model of the battery management system, the energy storage system can be a powerful guarantee extended life and energy storage systems to enhance system performance.Battery management system is an important subsystem of the smart grid energy storage management, it can be monitoring the the basic functions of storage batteries,battery management system are:(1), Limiting the battery overcharge and charge less;(2), Make sure the battery pack balanced between cells; 3, To maintain the safe operation of the battery pack. A typical battery pack tend to have a huge amount of battery, hybrid wiring harness, complex structure, it also gives the battery pack design and management has brought enormous challenges, therefore, this paper carried out the following studies:Firstly: Analyzing its working principle from the construction of the lithium battery. Compared with lead-acid batteries, NI-MH batteries and other commonly used storage batteries on the the energy density, charge and discharge cycle life, etc, lithium advantages in terms of performance indicators.Secondly: To study a new type of lithium battery, carrying the lithium battery test platform. According to the actual battery measurement data, building a lithium-ion battery model that has high precision.Thirdly: Proposing a kalman filter algorithm and neural network algorithm with the combination of the battery SOC estimation method, to ensure the battery SOC at a reasonable range, prevent the charge or discharge the battery damage, forecast of energy storage battery charged state at any time.Fourthly: Balancing technology is the key technology in the battery management system.Because of the imbalance between the cells in the battery management system,based on the lithium battery model and the NN-EKF model, building a kind of switch capacitance balanced system and the experiment shows that it has better effect on equilibrium.
