With the fusion of world economy and culture, traditional culture faces great challenges. Although different forms of western architecture can broaden people’s horizon, the traditional architecture always has boundless charm as the carrier of Chinese culture. Among them, Flowers-Hung Door is widely used in contemporary environmental art design for its exquis ite unique shape. Traced back to its history, we can understand Flowers-Hung Door gradually is formed with the rise of wood decoration in Song Dynasty, and then during Ming and Qing Dynasties, it is widely used in the courtyard-style houses, especially in Beijing courtyard. Flowers-Hung Door of dwellings is usually divided inner court from outer court in the form of second door. Although its architecture grading is not high, it is the most decorative in all gates of ancient building, often can be showed obvious local characteristics.Jinzhong region of Shanxi province formed residence building system with special decorative characteristics under the influence of Shanxi merchants’ culture in Ming and Qing dynasties. The thesis do some research focuses on Flowers-Hung Door of Jinzhong dwellings by using semiotics theory. To begin with, I review the historical origins of its Buddhism and Taoist magic. Next, the thesis summarizing Jinzhong Flowers-Hung Door’s special style inc lude Xuanshan ridge order and half-span roof order and decorative artistic features based on the plenty of Flowers-Hung Door cases, meanwhile analyzed the reasons and phenomenon of this situation by using the concept of “collective contract” “individual choice” and “signifier” “signified”. And then,the thesis showing double identity as architectural language and cultural carrier by analyzing the emotion expression of Shanxi merchants,moral and family female members. Finally, based on site situation of Jinzhong Flowers-Hung Door of my own eyes,I give some advice on protection and inheritance of ancient architecture.The charm of the building lies in its colorful nationality. The thesis embarks from the local culture, through the point of semiotics, tries to understand Chinese traditional building from a new perspective, thus explore more in-depth perspective of shanxi merchants’ culture and harem emotion of the architectural language. Therefore called for traditional symbol fit into the modern architecture on the basis of really understand, to generate harmonious emotional resonance between environment and its inhabitants.
