Overhead transmission line is an important part of the transmission system, guaranteeing the normal operation is the basis for the stable operation of power grid. Overhead transmission lines across the wide geographical distribution, the mountain across the river, facing the various geographical and meteorological environment. When encountered by lightning, heavy rain,falling objects, ice, hurricanes and other natural and external environmental factors change,overhead transmission lines will lead to the occurrence of short circuit, break fault lines, and even lead to tower collapse accident, endanger the safe operation of power system. When the transmission line fault, should quickly find fault locations and fault reasons and troubleshooting to quickly restore power supply for users. The online monitoring system of overhead transmission lines for the timely detection of abnormal operation of line, it is of great significance to improve the safety and reliability of power system.This paper introduces a design of online monitoring system of overhead transmission line based on wireless communication system. The micro meteorological information system can be real-time monitoring of overhead lines and lines of work environment, the detection signal through the wireless communication transmission system. Mainly for the following work:(1) The proposed structure is composed of an overhead transmission line condition monitoring system, analyzed the characteristics of some typical faults of overhead transmission lines, use MATLAB to simulate the fault analysis, given the fault line detection method.(2) The hardware design of the system of on-line monitoring system of overhead transmission lines, given the overall design scheme. Design is based on STM32 microprocessor line state detection subsystem, the design of the voltage, current and open circuit signal acquisition circuit and self should take the electric circuit. The monitoring system adopts Zigbee and GPRS communicates with the host computer.(3) The software design of monitoring system of overhead line, gives the main functions of the system software design, system initialization, data acquisition and processing,communication and fault handling procedures.(4) Experimental platform system, through the experiments verify the effectiveness of the overhead line monitoring system designed by this paper.
