Research On The Landscape Design Of Hot Spring Resort In Chongqing

The international tourism gradually transforms sightseeing-type destination into leisure vacation presently, and hot spring resort is popular with its functions, such as, health preserving, bath, lodging, recreation. As each park has one core landscape area, the core area of hot spring resort is the pool area. The hot spring pool area takes important status in showing the hotspring characteristics, landscape, regional culture. Chongqing with rich hot spring resources is named "the world city of hot spring", all kinds of spa resorts, spa tourism too numerous to mention individually.While the hot spring project leads to serious homogenization phenomenon of spa landscape, which severely prevents the long-term development of the hot spring resort in Chongqing.There are many researches on hotspring spa, but little on hot spring pool area.Taking the landscape of hot spring resort in Chongqing as the object of the research, and based on landscape architecture and environmental behavior psychology theory, this paper discusses the following aspects by way of literature search and combination of field surveys.(1) Based on the theories of the hot springs landscape design in China and abroad, this paper defines the related concepts of hot spring pool and study the function, characteristic, and influence factors;(2)This paper selectes twelve hot spring resorts to conduct field research, then has in-depth study on landscape from space layout, plant configuration, culture study, and summarizes the shortcomings and the current situations;(3) Combining theory with practice, this paper puts forward five principles: casual principle, privacy principle, suitability principle, cultural principle, health principle. Then we put forward some strategies of layout, such as combined with hotspring features for locating, design space sequence with leisure; coordination between the sequence and function. Selecting suitable and ornamental plant species, and wealth seasonal landscape; then using some health-type plants. For hot spring culture, put forward mining hot spring culture content and using landscape elements to reflect the cultural; and developing the customary of bathing to promote cultural development.This paper studies hot spring pool landscape from these three aspects: space layout, plants and culture. Through the research, it is expected to provide suggestions to other hot spring industries. At last, we should protect and develop the hot spring resources.
