Design And Application Of “Chinese Style” In Modern Residential Landscapes

After the precipitation of some cultures of more than 3000 years, the unique garden system integrated with natural taste and cultural spirit is finally formed.Previously, people tended to regard the landscaping in residential district as planting trees and greening. Over time, landscaping has also been paid attention with improved quality of life, spirit and culture as well as landscape quality. In recent years, with the invasion and influence of Western culture, the domestic garden design has become a mess and it starts to gradually break away from Chinese traditional national concept culturally and emotionally. Therefore, we need to create a green space with Chinese traditional culture, integrating Chinese elements and garden material by means of science and technology, which not only satisfies the demand for modern living environment but also has Chinese historical and cultural significance to carry forward the artistic charm and creativity of Chinese culture, thus making the“Chinese style”landscape taking the lead. In this paper, through the research of aesthetic form of Chinese classical garden, the author hopefully helps the development of Chinese classical garden.Based on the reference of related design projects of Chinese landscape residential district and relevant theoretical basis, this paper summarizes fengshui theory, Chinese traditional philosophy, traditional landscape gardening theory, etc. Combined with modern scenery design theory, this paper starts from describing how these Chinese style elements are inherited and developed in modern residential landscape, explain the connotation and extension of new Chinese type and summarizes the basic characteristics of new Chinese type, including combination of ancient culture with modern design, abstract, connotation, wide space, simplicity and elegance, etc., to expound the application and design of “Chinese style” element in modern residentiallandscape.
