Research On Design Of Yanling Antique Quarry Ruins Park In Shipai Town

There are numerous majestic architecture which were built by stones in the world history of architecture, like the Parthenon in Greece, the Taj Mahal in India, the Pyramid in Egypt,and the Louvre in France. Those architectures are great creations formed of stones. As the sites where quarrying activities operated, the antique quarry archaeological ruins reflect the history of human engineering activity. Besides, theses ruins becomes historical urban landscapes due to the natural beauty of rocks. Comparing to other ruins, the antique quarry archaeological ruins are often being put less attention to, which may result in more damage or improper destruction. Until now, there are a few antique quarry archaeological ruins left in China. It’s an essential study to discover a proper way to protect and show the original beauty of antique quarry to the public, and find out a sustainable way to run the antique quarry ruins parks.The main object of this paper is antique quarry Ruins Park. Through particular analysis of Yanling Antique Quarry Ruins Park in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, this paper summarizes the features, concepts and principles of antique quarry ruins park design. Firstly,clarify the definition and characteristics of the site, Ruins Park and the antique quarries by classifying and comparison the literature, which defined the research goals. Case analysis by reading books and field research. And then summarizing theory and practice of the latest research results. Three main modes of domestic Ruins Park have been summing up: Ruins Park, site museum and scenic sites. Meanwhile, three main foreign heritage protection modes have been summarized: the European model, the Japanese model and the American model.Secondly, through comparative analysis of the domestic antique quarry Ruins Park and two oversea antique quarry Ruins Park, we analyzed the spatial sequence pattern of antique quarry Ruins Park, and summarized two kinds of mode, which were straight-through mode and surround mode. This paper respectively explore the theoretical exploration of ruins park’s design from, including authenticity, sustainable concepts, and the concept of environmental coordination. Finally, based on these theory, mainly analyze the Guangdong antique quarry Ruins Park, especially Yanling antique quarry Ruins Park case in Dongguan, from macro planing to details of their design. According to the study, we hope to present a method todispose the contradiction between antique quarry Ruins Park and urban development, and summarize a better design pattern based on authenticity, sustainability and environmental coordination theory.
