With the continuous economic and social development, energy consumption is increased significantly, current energy consumption patterns pose a major threat to the environment. Human is becoming more and more attention to environmental protection, especially the prospects for the global warming may cause the disaster, encourage people to find new sources of energy sustainable development route. The energy and environmental problems become more prominent in our country, the government’s energy policy attaches great importance to the renewable and clean energy development. Nuclear power as a kind of safe, economic and clean energy, is an important means of dealing with global climate change, it has been recognized by the people. Chinese government formulated the long-term nuclear power development plan, it required safe and efficient development of nuclear power. China has entered a new era of nuclear energy utilization.The key problem to restrict the development of nuclear power is the processing of nuclear waste, particularly high level liquid waste treatment. The current widely used PUREX process is a solvent extraction process. Looking for a new and better extractant is the goal of scientific research workers. In this work, a series of polysubstituted bis-succinamides compounds were synthesized and used for the extraction, separation of actinides and lanthanides, the extraction mechanism was discussed preliminarily.1. We synthesized nine different substituents bis-succinamides, synthetic products were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, high resolution mass spectrometry and other methods.2. We studied the performance of nine polysubstituted bis-succinamides of extraction of uranyl in different types of diluent, found extraction effect was better in xylene, toluene, carbon tetrachloride. Using xylene as diluent, TBDE-BisSCA has the best extraction effect. The extraction mechanism of uranyl is neutral complexing extraction, composition of extracted complex is UO2(NO3)2·TBDE-BisSCA.3. We studied the performance of ethyl replaced polysubstituted bis-succinamides of extraction of thorium in xylene. We found the best extraction of thorium is TBDE-BisSCA, which was extracted with the similar law of the extraction of uranyl. The extraction mechanism of thorium is neutral complex extraction too, composition of extracted complex is Th(NO3)4·TBDE-BisSCA. The performance of extracting europium by this kind of compounds is very poor, it may be used to separate lanthanides and actinides.4. We studied the performance of ethyl replaced polysubstituted bis-succinamides of extraction of uranyl in imidazole ionic liquid. We found that the best extraction effect of uranyl is TODE-BisSCA in [Bmim] PF6, the extraction mechanism is a cation exchange mechanism.
