With the rapid development of the power system and the power market in Zhuhai, the requirement of power supply reliability is becoming more and more demanding. However, the scale of the power system is constantly expanding, and the problem of short circuit capacity is becoming more and more important. In order to solve the problem of short circuit current in the power grid fault, the 220 kV power grid system adopts a hierarchical and divisional power supply mode which requires the 220 kV bus bar running apart in Zhuhai 500 kV Guoan substation. The power supply reliability declines.In order to meet the reliability and economic requirements of power grid operation, the standby power supply automatic input device will be used in 220 kV system of Guoan substation. When the power supply is lost, the standby power supply can be quickly put into operation. The standby power supply automatic input device has been widely used in the medium and low voltage power grid, but it has little application in 220 kV system and above. The function and the way of 220 kV device is not as simple as no voltage automatic input. Based on the actual operation of Zhuhai power grid, the necessity of 220 kV standby power supply automatic input device in Guoan substation is discussed in this paper. The realization principle, design idea, action logic, access simulation quantity selection, function lock and abnormal alarm etc. are analyzed in this paper. Meanwhile, the work process,the operation and maintenance of the drive are discussed in detail. Because of the special nature of 220 kV, it is necessary to pay attention to the daily operation and maintenance work to ensure the safe and stable operation of power system.
