It is an important task to analyze and calculate the wind energy resource and generating capacity of wind farm. It is directly related to the benefits of the project. For wind farm in mountain area, because of its large area, complicated topography and landform conditions, low thermal stability in mountain terrain, and complicated wind change tread, wind is obviously affected by the topography and therefore the calculation of wind resource becomes comparatively difficult. In this case, if using resource analysis software based on the linear model to measure, there will be a big derivation between the various calculated elements of wind energy resources and generating capacity.Collecting meteorological data of weather stations nearby site area and four wind towers’actual observation data in sites, this article tests the actual wind data and interpolate missing or wrong data. Meanwhile, combining long-series of meteorological data to revise the average wind measurement data, this article analyses the related elements of wind energy resources such as wind power density, wind rose, turbulent, and wind shear etc based on the revised wind data calculation. Furthermore, it analyses the influences of different wind towers in sites, and combines the calculation and analysis of the influences regional wind source indexes bring to the calculation of wind energy resources in wind farms, the layout of wind turbine and unit selections. Meanwhile, it introduces the theories, solution and concrete application of WAsP software based on linear model and WT software based on CFD technology (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Meanwhile, it makes a contrast in the use of WAsP software and WT software to simulate wind resource grid, calculate wind resource grid and generating capacity. Furthermore, it intensively studies the wind energy estimated software based on CFD’s application in calculating the energy resource in large mountain wind farms. According to the complexity of topography of wind farm and resource distribution, this article introduces the theories, solutions and concrete applications of WAsP software based on linear model and WT software based on CFD technology (Computational Fluid Dynamics) by contrast. Also, it analyses the actual wind speed in wind farm based on WAsP and CFD to calculate the inaccuracy and get a relatively accurate conclusion of CFD model in mountain wind farms. Eventually it chooses WT based on CFD and gets relatively accurate on-grid energy for Mayi Mountain Wind Farm with analyzing the calculated wind resource data and each wind energy indexes.Taking Mayi Mountain Wind Power Farm for example, this article gives a detailed introduction about the solution combining wind energy evaluation software based on CFD to evaluate wind energy evaluation and generation to calculate, which provides a new thinking and method for accurate resource evaluation electric quantity calculation in mountain wind farm exploration.
