As the development of the world economy and architectural technology, a large number of complex shape, new structure of the high-rise buildings and other structures continuously appear. Building materials develop in the direction of lighter and softer, which makes the structure stiffness decreasing and more sensitive to wind load. Wind load gradually become the main control load of tall buildings and structures in the structural design process. Therefore, wind resistant of high-rise buildings becomes an increasingly important research direction.At present, the basic methods of high-rise buildings wind resistance research are wind tunnel experiment, field measurement and numerical simulation. Compared to the traditional research methods, CFD numerical simulation has the advantages of short design period, low test cost and widely adaptability, and becomes one of the important means of the high-rise buildings wind effect research. Field measurement is an important kind of wind engineering research methods, which can obtain comprehensive, reliable wind field data and provide the basis for CFD numerical simulation.This paper focuses on the study of the characteristics and laws of wind field at the top of the high-rise building, and the results are as follows:Firstly, with study of the wind field measurement data at the top of the high-rise building influenced by typhoon “Soudelor”, the histories of the average wind speed and direction of wind field are determined as well as the turbulence and gust factor.The fluctuating wind power spectrum is consistent with Von Karman spectrum. The abnormal data is identified to obtain the measured data which is more close to the actual wind field.Secondly, in this paper, a wind tunnel test of wind field at the top of the high-rise building was carried out. The test data were analyzed and the variation of wind speed with height at the top of the building was obtained. And the smoke line test was carried out on the top of the building to analyse the change of the wind field at the top of the high-rise building.Thirdly, based on the Xiamen Guanyinshan operation center laboratory building,with the steady-state numerical simulation of high-rise buildings wind field, the wind field distribution at the top of the building are studied.Compared with the result ofwind tunnel test smoke line, the numerical simulation method is verified. The time histories of fluctuated wind speed generated by spectrum synthesis are used as inlet boundary of large eddy simulation(LES). By using transient numerical simulation method, the change of the wind field at the top of high-rise buildings is analyzed, and the influence of the high rise building on the top wind field is obtained.Finally, the main content of this research are summarized to the conclusions and with the analysis of research situations, numerical simulation and field measurement of high-rise buildings was expected in the further research.
