A Study On The Application Of Garden View Organizing To Public Space Designing Of Resort Hotels

Along with the growth of the national economy and the development of material and spiritual civilization, resort hotel has become a main choice for people to spend their leisure time relaxing and entertaining. To pay attention to daily experience, build rich perception as the main target of a resort hotel, become a popular trend. The hotel public space is not only a place that people experience the hotel’s theme features and construction level, but also an important activity place of hotel guests. In order to meet people’s growing spiritual and aesthetic demands, public space is required to make more changes on design, create diverse space.By field research and reviewing literature of the resort hotel public space’s current situation, the author analyzed the existing problems of resort hotel public space comprehensively, mainly including four points:single function of the public space in old-style hotel; cannot meet the demand of relieving work pressure; the same methods of designing hotel public space influenced by globalization; lacking of change for the overall space design. These problems are not only contradicted with the hotel’s status in today’s society (without meeting the single function of accommodation, hotels has evolved into important places where people can have more activities, such as social communication, cultural exchanges, information transfer and others), but also contradictory to consumer’s demands today (now most guests are intended to seek a kind of holiday experience based on the "mental and physical relaxation", and feel comfortable during the journey, abound change, flexible, different from the daily life), so the author attempts to apply garden view organizing(Chinese traditional garden carries the ancestors’ understanding of human, nature, and also is the more popular architectural form for people, the fine is the garden view organizing) to the public space in resort hotel in order to solve the contradiction.At first, the author summarized the garden view organizing and the resort hotel public space, dividing the methods of garden view organizing into three categories:seeing and being seen, contrast and foil, depth of field and level, and the integrated the specific characteristics of the corresponding technique.The author divided the public space into three parts:outdoor space, interior space, transitional space, and analyzed the factors which influence the overall public space design and factors of designing each space. Then the paper combined the two parts, using case to analyze the general layout at first, summarizing the basic layout; then combining each part with seeing and being seen, contrast and foil, depth of field and level to analyze the specific strategies. In the end, combined with the actual case to verify these strategies, in order to create a resort that based on the "mental and physical relaxation".
