From the sand, sun and sea, to the nature, nirvana, nostalgia holiday life, our lives are changing slowly: nature, original, forests, springs, rivers, rokes, regional culture. The mountain resort hotel integrates these elements into a vacation paradise. Quietly away from the earth, and in harmony with the nature, one put time together originally, the nostalgia is difficult to resist, which is a kind of expression of life philosophy.Public space is an important part of the Mountain Resort Hotel, it not only provides public places for different holiday lives such as customers dining, leisure, communication, viewing, entertainment and meeting, but also reflects the Mountain Resort Hotel’s natural, regional characteristics and cultural attributes and create a holiday environment which is full of natural flavor and leisure culture for the guests.Based on the existing domestic and foreign holiday hotel theorical research, research object is identified as public space of domestic representative mountain resort hotels, and field research of San ya Yalong Bay, Zhejiang Mogan Mountain, Chongqing North Springs scenic spot ect those well-known holiday hotels, illustrates the examples of the international guiding mountain resorts. Through the comprehensive analysis and summary of the mountain resort hotel public space design methods.The paper firstly introduces the concept and types of Mountain Resort Hotel, which leads to the research object of this paper: the public space of Mountain Resort Hotel. The author analyzes its importance and significantly analyzes its design influence factors and basic design principle s derived from these factors, which forms a clear context for the later research. Then the paper introduces a brief descrip tion of the representative part: receiving space, dining space, entertainment space, meeting space, which chapter three,four, five and six have specific research on those parts. Each chapter analysiezes its function, flow line, scale, space interface(permeability), details(material and regional culture expression) respectively, and summarizes the general design methods.
