The Method And Application Of Urban Design Strategy

In the gradual improvement of the market economy, urban design as an indispensable and important part of China’s current urban-rural planning system will face with the need to transform the urban space from the ideal into reality, as well as the urgent problems in the process of urban development to enhance the feasibility and operability of urban design achievements. Therefore, urban design based on the planning has received highly extensive attention.Reviewing current research, some scholars have carried out theoretical research and case practice based on the theory of planning, but the domestic study on the specific methods of urban design planning also have not yet formed a systematization and theorization. Under this background, this paper discusses the elements, characteristics, types and specific methods of urban design planning and proposes an application technology of urban design planning on the basis of relevant theoretical research and practical cases in a comprehensive analysis, in order to provide tremendous help for the theoretical research and design practice in the future.It was found that urban design planning has four characteristics: : forward-looking, scientific, operational and comprehensive benefits. According to the difference of the depth of the urban design planning, it is divided into two types: directing-type and application-oriented type. The elements of urban design planning include “four stages and seven points". The “four stages” include the investigation and analysis, preliminary planning, design planning and implementation planning, and the “seven points” contain current situation investigation, positioning planning, concept planning, format planning, land planning, image planning and operational planning. At the same time, detailed specific methods of urban design planning in various stages have been researched. On the basis of the application of the framework, the paper argues the practical framework of urban design planning in practical application by taking the urban design of Dingmao core region as an example.
