Space Renewal Design Research On Pan Shien Ancient Curtilage In Su Zhou

The cultural and historical ancient curtilage is an important part of historical and cultural Suzhou, and deepens the connotation of "Humanistic Suzhou", which has important significance for the construction of "Humanistic Suzhou". Pan Shien ancient curtilage contains very rich historical and cultural significance, and its value is enormous. For Suzhou, Pan Shien ancient curtilage is undoubtedly a name card of its profound historical cultural heritage and human landscape. This paper has chosen culture, historical value of Pan Shien ancient curtilage as the starting point to research the principles and ideas of Pan Shien ancient curtilage’s space innovation design. By analyzing the historical value and status of Pan Shien ancient curtilage, this paper aims to sum up the highlights and blankness of space design about Pan Shien curtilage. Through the analysis of the foreign outstanding cases and my design experience when I participated in the process of Pan Shien ancient curtilage’s innovative design case, I discuss the space design and research on Pan Shien ancient curtilage in Niu Jia Xiang, Pingjiang District, Su Zhou. Finally, this paper summarizes the innovative principles of space using of Pan Shien curtilage, and analyze and combine the protection and space design of ancient curtilage on functional diversity, format innovation, and comprehensive utilization mode. This paper also proposes my own thinking on protection of Suzhou’s ancient curtilage even Chinese ancient curtilage and exploration and development about and further extension.
