Traditional Village has a harmonious man-earth relationship and unique historical, social, artistic, ecological value. It is a concentrated expression of local culture. With the impact of modern civilization and the development of farming community, village appearance and customs are undergoing changes. Faced with cultural changes, how to resolve the demands of the villagers by village planning? And how to strike a balance between conservation and development, upgrade and inheritance? What cultural similarities and differences are of Azheke and Niuluopu, which villages have similar social and historical background and natural environments but significantly different physical form and villager idea. What is the influence of culture on space? How to find answers to retain or abandon from the difference and provide feasible basis for planning?This thesis, having a basic framework "Culture-Space-Planning", takes Azheke and Niuluopu village as object of study, and does deep analysis on culture and space characteristics of the two villages. The relationship between them is researched by field survey, interviews with villagers, literature reviews, data statistics, planning feedback, showing the village society organizations and the space construction law, as well as villagers’ way of life and values. On this basis, by comparing the similarities and differences, it explores relationship between the present and future, culture and space, the inheritance and updates. According to outlook of cultural changes, planning countermeasures are formulated combined with the choice of development model of ideal village. Finally, it put forward a view that cultural change is inevitable, but cultural perceivers have power to make choice and adaptation of the future strategy based on happiness and comfort. Village planning should look at the village with a dynamic light, and put the villagers in the dominant position, keeping them involved with all aspects of planning. Both generality and individual character of the village are taken into account. Understanding of "village community" should be strengthen and self-confidence of local culture and national should be built. Furthermore, create a good space by planning to play a positive influence on culture.
