As an illustrative, festivals, timeliness and thematic activities space, people are the most important clients of Garden Expo. However, due to the Garden Expo park planning design pay more attention to show the display form and effect, leading people to ignore the real user in Garden Expo space design, making the behavior spaces of Garden Expo has been built appeared many unsatisfied place. How to create humanized space and satisfy the diversified needs of users through the study of human behavior psychology and environment space, that is a question. This study mainly focuses on the central scenic of the Garden Expo, Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui. Through the behavioral annotations, field surveys, questionnaires, non-official visits and photographing methods. In the understanding of Wuhan Garden Expo natural and human, based on planning and design of the status quo, to park in the core scenic Jing tried water scenic space were empirical research, and draw lessons from the experience of relevant cases, of Jing tried water scenic space put forward the optimized design scheme. The main results of the study are showed as follows:(1)Groom the concepts related of behavior and spatial based on the studies on user behavior, grasp the studies on behavior and space in Garden Expo, and understand the relationship between users behavioral needs and space.(2)Know the design and present status of the Wuhan Garden Expo through data collection, field surveys, and have an overview of the spatial landscape structure of the central scenic of the Garden Expo, Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui. Jing-Shan is a forest space that built by jungle landscape. And Chu-Shui is the largest waterfront space of all. This two scenic is the largest public space of whole Wuhan Garden Expo.(3)Through the survey of Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui, firstly, we understand the performance of users’behavior, and behavioral tendency, which is that Chu-Shui has more tourists, and their behaviors are more abundant; secondly, we know the structure, the habits and the tendency of the users, which is that users are satisfied with the Garden Expo overall, but show dissatisfaction to a few facilities and landscape, and require more leisure activities; Thirdly, we find the difference of behaviors and needs among different ages, and the Garden Expo show deficiencies in considering children and special populations. Fourth, we analyzed the relationship between user’s behavior and space, and find that users prefer to waterfront, interactive landscape, high quality landscape and more rest space. And we also find the following performance between users. What’s more, users’ behaviors do affect the space, which need be optimized.(4)Through interpreting the five cases, we try to explain the features and meaning of each reference case and sum up what we can learn from them for Wuhan Garden Expo. Briefly, Wuhan Garden Expo is lack of a focal point for vertical landscape; the waterfront is not maximized to meet the user behavior; the user is always longing for more colorful landscapes and the users demand interactive sculpture landscape and experience.(5)Optimize the influence caused by the users’ behavior in Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui base on the survey and analysis. Under the theme of "Eco Expo, Green Life", and the guidance of optimization idea, "Behavior led, Respect the Space, Space Guidance", we optimize the affected space with the preservation of roads, builds and landscapes. At first we give the optimization advises and method to overall space of Jing-Shan,Chu-Shui, Proposed optimization solution for some impacted road and scenic. Give beautification recommendations for existing facilities, as well as proposing method for some security issues. Through controlling or satisfying user’s behavior in the premise of meeting the quality of landscape and space optimization, and make the behavior space of Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui to meet the needs of users, and create a more humanized space.According to the above research and analysis, we analyze the relationship between users’ behavior and space, and optimize the space of Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui to create a more humanized space landscape. These results can not only guide the space optimization of Jing-Shan and Chu-Shui, but also provide excellent reference case for future similar landscape designs.
