Research And Simulation Of Solar Automatic Tracking System Based On FPGA And LABVIEW

Since the end of the 19 th century, human society has entered a stage of great development, accompanied by the demand for energy showing explosive growth. So far the demand for energy is still increasing, the available fossil energy has become relatively scarcity, the energy crisis has become a constantly sounded alarm. Based on this energy crisis, to seek alternative energy has become a new priority, solar energy as a sustainable and green energy emerged as a major new focus. The solar energy resource in the western region is very rich, which is characterized by a long duration and intensity, especially for the development and utilization of solar energy. This paper presents a solar tracking system with FPGA and LABVIEW virtual instruments to make solar energy is more efficient absorption and utilization.Development of the domestic and foreign solar energy technology, this paper uses the combination of the sun position tracking and the optical tracking method, and use the dual-axis tracking technology to further improve its tracking accuracy. The whole system can be divided into two parts, one part is based on the FPGA as the core of the lower computer, this part mainly by photoelectric sensor, FPGA core board and serial port. The clock output module, AD acquisition module, solar tracking module and serial communication module are simulated and analyzed by QuartusⅡ. Another part is based on the LABVIEW, which is composed of data real time display interface, file storage interface and serial communication interface. The simulation of each module of the upper computer is carried out by using the virtual serial port technology.The simulation results show that the system can work normally and achieve the expected goal.
