With the development of social economy, the demand of energy has been increasedquickly due to the backward energy structure of fossil fuel, the shortage of total energyreserves and environmental problems caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Therefore,the application of solar energy has become a hotspot in new energy technologies.A photocell sun tracking device based on the trajectory of sun is designed toovercoming shortcomings of traditional solar tracker on home and abroad in this paper.The scheme of this device combined the tracking solar panels with photo resistorsensors is enable to achieve the signal acquisition and processing of two-axis suntracking device. Photovoltaic solar tracking device is composed by the cylinderphotocell sensor, the FPGA core board, solar automatic tracking biaxial rotatingplatform and stepping motor and its control device. Simulation and analysis of internalclock module, cylindrical photocell sensor control module, automatic tracking moduleand key de-bounce module of the digital system based on FPGA chip is realized and thetrace of sunlight is done. Experimental results show that this method can accuratelytrack8hours of sun position, and it has improving solar absorption efficiency of thesolar tracking device.
