With the rapid development of national economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, people deepen their dependence on power supply, the demand for electricity is growing, the safety of power grid reliability, and put forward higher requirements for stable operation. In recent years, the distribution network structure is more and more big, when fault occurs, the alarm information is very huge, the operation and maintenance personnel is very difficult to make a correct judgment in a short period of time, when the fault information after screening, to quickly complete the fault diagnosis, the fault diagnosis of the feedback will give a clear indication of the operation and maintenance personnel. Therefore, the introduction of complex event processing technology, causes to automatic recognition of faults as early as possible, so as to take effective measures to deal with. Complex event processing technology is a kind of technology of automatic detection, analysis and processing of the flow of events, it is necessary to the complex event processing technology is applied to the fault diagnosis of distribution network.Fault diagnosis system of power network fault diagnosis system based on complex event processing technology is firstly used to obtain the protection action information, switch trip information, fault recording information, and the position of the fault equipment is judged by comprehensive reasoning and complex event processing technology. First, complex event processing technology will protect action information, fault recording information and SCADA system to collect the switch action information, these information processing into meaningful knowledge, and then use the hierarchical system analysis of fault information, the fault information processing, the establishment of the aggregation between the levels of the rules, and finally the use of computer language EPL modeling. In this paper, the ESper complex event processing technology development platform, system design, mainly divided into data acquisition module, data processing module and data storage module, the three parts of the system were tested.
