Along with the social development and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, electrification level is increasingly rising, thus as a clean, high-quality, efficient and convenient secondary energy, electric energy plays a more and more important part in the daily life’s energy consumption. The research of distribution network automation application in optimal plan of agricultural distribution network has become an important practical issue. Distribution network automation most of which are for the pilot, still belongs to the exploratory stage in our country. Its function is single mainly with feeder automation; There is no comprehensive consideration of system integration with every separated unit. Thus its applications are at primary stage. The major research topic of this article is how to effectively optimally plan agricultural distribution network, especially how to widely implement county distribution network automation.Starting from the status quo analysis of distribution network at home and abroad, in view of common problems such as the thin structure of agricultural distribution network, low transfer rate, no automatic feeder fault isolation system and backward management, this article researches optimal planning of distribution network automation of Fengyang County distribution network, selects the appropriate form of distribution network automation pilot, and finds the optimization of distribution network and planning direction suitable for Fengyang through the pilot reformation and the empirical research.It also analyses the characteristics of the selected pilot line, discusses communication mode and system configuration, puts forward some solutions to the problems of system security and safety, tests the function of the transforemed system and verifies the feasibility of the proposed optimized retrofit scheme.After the further analysis of the realization of the function of the distribution network in Fengyang, the article proposes the improved scheme directing at the deficiency existing in distribution network automation system.
