Aeolian vibration is the most commonly form of wind-induced vibration on the overhead transmission lines. Long term of Aeolian vibration may cause fatigue damage to conductors, which is a serious threat to the safety of transmission line system.Based on the study of single conductor, this paper focuses on the numerical simulation of bundled conductors by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. Considering the interaction between the structure and flow field, along with the wake effect of sub-conductors, Aeolian vibration fluid-structure interaction model in serial and staggered arrangement of bundled conductors was established. Then carries on the numerical simulation in wind speed range of Aeolian vibration, through analysing vibration characteristics of bundled conductors with different horizontal and vertical spaces, curves of vertical amplitude ratio to reduced speed were achieved.Simulate the condition of forced vibration, then use the aerodynamic load response of conductors to get its wind power input curve, the basic rule of wind power input as the function of the reduced speed of bundled conductors in different arrangement was achieved. Studying on the response characteristics of Aeolian vibration of bundled conductors and its influence factors, it provides the basis for Anti-vibration scheme and has application value for transmission line safety assessment of bundled conductors.Aiming at the application requirements for new type of conductor in transmission line engineering, research on the aerodynamic properties and dynamic response of aeolian vibration of Aluminum Conductor Composite Core (ACCC), compared to Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR), based on fluid-structure interactive method. Analyze on the response characteristics of Aeolian vibration in terms of conductor cross section, it supplies the reference to the applications of ACCC in engineering.
