There are dense population, developed economy and broad area in hot summer and cold winter zone. With the improvement of people’s living standard, the residents of the area in summer and winter have taken cooling and heating measures to improve the indoor thermal environment, this also leads to the residential building energy consumption in hot summer and cold winter zone rose sharply. The energy usage in northern cold area is "full time, full space", so occupant behavior has little effect on energy consumption; while the energy usage in hot summer and cold winter is generally in "part of time, part of space", occupant behavior has a significant impact on building energy consumption. But the energy use conditions of the design standard for energy efficiency of residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter zone follow the energy usage in cold zone, and the research of building energy saving technology is based on this condition, this has lead to the actual energy saving effect is not ideal after using of building energy efficiency technology means in the area. In order to establish a reasonable code of conduct applied to the design of building energy saving, so that "working condition" approaches to the actual working condition and achieve the corresponding energy saving target, this paper carried out the following research:First of all, through the large sample questionnaire collected 528 valid questionnaires, detailed investigation of the residents of Hangzhou city in hot summer and cold winter area behavior and residential building energy consumption, analyzed the occupant behavior of residential buildings in Hangzhou city, air conditioning calculation period, heating calculation period and the relationship between energy consumption and consumption per unit area. And analyzed the correlation between the influence factors and the residential building energy consumption.Secondly, on the basis of investigation, through the power meter, temperature and humidity meter in 6 families for a period of 2 years of home measured, access to household air conditioning in summer and winter, indoor thermal environment and energy consumption of households, and verify the correctness of the results of the questionnaire survey. Also through household survey with questionnaire analysis to determine air conditioning calculation period is from June 18 to September 5, the heating calculation period is from December 12 to next February 19, longer and shorter respectively than regulations the design standard for energy efficiency of residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter zone. And the typical behavior patterns based on three aspects of time, space and comfort are determined, that is, energy consumption equipment is part of the time, part of the space of the operation, specifically for the use of equipment space for the living room and bedroom; summer use of the time period is 21:00-6:00, winter is 21:00-23:00; at the same time, considering the comfort of human body, the tolerance temperature in summer and winter were 31 and 12 respectively, and the set temperature of the equipment were 27 and 16 respectively. Finally, taking a typical household in Hangzhou city as an example, using the building energy simulation software DeST, analyzed the air conditioning and heating equipment operating mode, air conditioning and heating calculation period, tolerance temperature, setting temperature on the impacte of energy consumption, to obtain a single factor on the impact of energy consumption. At the same time, in the same objective environment, using the behavior model proposed in this paper to carry out the annual energy consumption simulation, and compared to the calculation results under the norms of behavior mode, specification of the given energy consumption index and measured energy consumption results. The results show that due to different patterns of occupant behavior, so that the energy consumption index and the energy consumption under the standard model are higher than actual results.
