The Study On Integrated Design Strategies Of Space And Display Of Contemporary Museum

The museum is a complex whole composed by the buildings and exhibits. Handling the relationship between display and space is beneficial to creating a unique museum which has close contact with the exhibits. Exhibition design of display space is a comprehensive space art. Therefore, a close cooperation among relative professional fields is very important so that the display space can meet the need of display. Based upon the theory of museology, the influence of different types of display and exhibition methods to display space is investigated. The main body of the thesis is to make research on the concrete integrated design strategies of space and display of contemporary museum.The main contents are as follows:1. Through the interpretation of the concept related to display, such as guiding ideology of display design, the language of exhibitions, display methods, this thesis makes a definition for the integrated design of space and display.2. By studying on display space of Western and Chinese museum from ancient, modern to contemporary, the relationship between space and display is analyzed during each time.3. By analyzing contemporary museum, the thesis makes a deep research on the integrated design strategies of space and display, including four aspects:the integrated design of spatial form and display, interface and display, natural lighting and display, details and display.4. Through summarizing cases and analyzing the new trend, some new integrated design strategies in the future are proposed.
