In recent years, with the development of demand response and smart grid, home energy management system as residents side extension of smart grid has gradually become research focus. However, most of the researches are on it’s basic information collection and energy control, and lack of household energy management optimization control strategy seriously. Therefore, this paper studies home energy optimization strategy based demand response of smart grid, the main contents are as follows:Firstly, this paper has made a deep research on load characteristics of household equipment from four perspectives of discrete and continuous, transferable and non-transferable, interruptable and uninterruptable, direct and indirect energy storage. Then, it has divided household devices into five categories which are uncontrollable load, simple adjustable load, distributed energy and energy storage device, electric vehicles and HVAC equipment(heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems), and established the corresponding load model.Secondly, for home energy structure, this paper has designed a set of home energy optimal control strategy based on demand response, Wherein, user-selectable optimization modes contain emergency response mode, economy optimization mode, saving optimization mode, energy optimization mode and custom mode; Then, combined with load model of home devices, it has established mathematical models of emergency response mode, economy mode, saving mode, and energy mode. Moreover, in accordance with the objectives and constraints of the economic mode, saving mode and energy mode, this paper has adopted improved fast discrete binary PSO and fast hybrid PSO from aspects of particle code, constraint handling, particle updating and implementation steps, and designed optimization algorithms of economic model, saving energy model and energy model.Finally, this paper has simulated the three modes of economic optimization mode, saving optimization mode and energy optimization mode using MATLAB program, and obtained the optimal control strategy of household equipment. Simulation results show that household load optimized overall exhibit high price low load, low price high load, which significantly reduces the total cost of energy. It illustrates the necessity of power optimization of household electrical equipment under time of use pricing, especially containing large power electrical equipment such as electric cars and temperature control devices; the result of Energy optimization model simulation also confirms the importance of the introduction of distributed energy and energy storage device in the future home energy optimization. At last, this article has analyzed the performance of improved algorithm, the result shows that the improved algorithm has strong adaptability and superior optimization effect for different household equipment and optimization purposes.
