Smart Grid Dispatching Control System (hereinafter to be referred as D5000 System) is a series of grid dispatching system that researched and developed independently by China. It is safe, reliable, high efficient, open interactive, flexible, compatible and integrated. So far, D5000 system has been constructed or launched in state dispatching center and over 31 province dispatching centers and over 50 regional dispatching centers in China.With the rapid development and continuous scale expansion of electric grid, higher requirements were presented for data collecting toward lots of aspects such as massive real-time data handling, systematic cooperation, safe control operation, quick information synchronization and interconnection in heterogeneous system. More flexible, more efficient and more general running mode is needed because of the huge amount of types of real-time communicate interaction. Traditional data collecting function was mainly oriented to single application and it had shortcomings like repetitive functions, complicate maintenance and insufficient information sharing and exchanging. At the same time, along with the expansion of the system scaling, it became harder to maintain and had lower collecting and handling ability.Along with the completion and application of distributed system, Common Information Model of power grid (hereinafter to be referred as CIM/E) and general service protocol, the study of distributed data acquisition has been well prepared. This paper describes the general structure of distributed data acquisition, then through the study of service protocol and key techniques of data acquisition, the application of the data acquisition system has been provided. Under the study of Science and Technology Project of State Grid, the demonstration application has been completed in a provincial power company.
