As an important resource, Water resources is an indispensable component in the operation of socio-economic development. In the background of the process of China’s industrialization and urbanization continues to accelerate, Water supply and demand contradictions become more outstanding. Industrial water has become the second-largest water users behind agricultural water use. However, China’s current industrial development mode is relatively straightforward in general, the waste of industrial water is serious, industrial water efficiency is still left far behind developed countries. In this context, use the water resources scientifically and efficiently. Gradually increase the efficiency of industrial water is the fundamental way to solve the long-term development of the industry, It is of great significance to relieve pressure on water resources in China. This paper first explain the connotation of industrial water use efficiency and water efficiency, summarize existing industrial water efficiency calculation method, Then analyzes the situation of water resources and the use of industrial water in our country, summarizes the characteristics of industrial water using. Then used the data envelopment analysis, constructed input and output index system, using the SBM-DEA model calculated China’s 30 provinces (municipalities) industrial water use efficiency during 2005-2014,and compare the results of the analysis sub regional. Also use the ESDA method to analysis the spatial correlation of industrial water use efficiency. Explore the links in the distribution patterns of space. Finally, puts forward some corresponding policy suggestions to increase the efficiency of industrial water using. The paper’s analysis has a certain theoretical and practical value on improving industrial water use efficiency and promoting the sustainable development of water resources.
