Articulated dump truck originated in the 1960s, and it is a kind of non-road transport equipment which is designed for harsh weather. Compared with rigid dump truck, the articulated dump truck has more maneuverability and adaptability, so it is more applicable to the field operation with complex working conditions. With the increasing development of mineral resources at home and abroad, the articulated dump truck has shown the advantages of transportation for mineral resources. Therefore, it is significant to improve driver’s driving comfort, to improve the life of vehicle parts and protect the personal safety by establishing the virtual prototype dynamic model of vehicle and studying the ride comfort and roll stability of articulated dump truck. In this paper, because the ride comfort test of 60t articulated dump truck did not meet the relevant comfort evaluation standards, a virtual prototype collaborative simulation model based on SIMPACK/AMESim/Simulink was established. Including:Dynamic virtual simulation model which was established in SIMPACK software; Hydraulic steering simulation system model and front suspension system model which were established in AMESim software; Electric wheel driving torque control model which was established in Simulink software. Finally, according to the actual situation, the input and output variables of each software simulation model were set up, and the collaborative simulation model was established with Simulink as the main simulation environment. In order to improve the ride comfort of articulated dump truck, firstly, the vehicle ride comfort and roll stability simulation test by using the virtual prototype was carried out. Secondly, the reasons for the poor ride comfort of the test vehicle were pointed out by comparing the ride comfort test and the simulation results. Then, the improvement scheme was put forward with the manufacturers:the balanced beam type rigid rear axle structure of articulated dump truck should be replaced by the elastic rear axle structure which is carried by the double oil air suspension. Finally, the vehicle ride comfort and roll stability simulation test with the improved simulation model was carried out. According to the simulation results, it can be seen that the improvement scheme can largely improve the vehicle ride comfort and roll stability, and a foundation was established for improving safety and comfort of the articulated dump truck. |
