Articulated dump truck is a kind of dumper with hinge joint and swing ring between the front body and the rear body,and it is developed to accommodate the harsh environment.The working environment of the articulated dump truck is very complicated,the vehicle body has a long time under the vibration and shock working condition,which has a great influence on the driving performance of the vehicle,and its driving performance includes the ride comfort and other indicators.Hydro-pneumatic suspension system is mostly used in articulated dump trucks,suspension system plays a key role on the articulated dump truck ride comfort.The different type of hydro-pneumatic suspension,the different ability to buffer the road excitation and the different ability to balance vehicle bridge load.Therefore,it is necessary to compare the effects of different hydro-pneumatic suspension modes on the driving performance of articulated dump trucks.In the early actual vehicle test found that the 60t articulated electric wheel dump truck developed by a company which use balanced beam rigid rear axle did not show the ideal ride comfort.Therefore,the programs of install independent hydro-pneumatic suspension or ipsilateral coupling hydro-pneumatic suspension on the vehicle rear axle are proposed by factory.How to choose a hydro-pneumatic suspension which can improve the dump truck ride comfort preferably in a specific working environment,and provide reference for the factory about selection and optimization of hydro-pneumatic suspension,is the main research contents of this paper.In order to simulate the actual driving environment of the dump truck and the interaction between suspension and vehicle,the vehicle dynamics model based on SIMPACK and the hydraulic model of the steering and suspension system based on AMESim and the equal torque control model based on Simulink were established,according to the real input and output condition and making Simulink as a platform to establish a co-simulation system.Based on the established co-simulation system and according to the relevant national standard,firstly,this paper analyzed the mechanical properties of the two hydro-pneumatic suspension under the pulse input road condition,and evaluates the vehicle ride comfort.Further,under the different random road excitation,the ride comfort simulation of the articulated dump truck model equipped with two kinds of hydro-pneumatic suspension is carried out.Which provides theoretical guidance for factory's scheme selection.Finally,the real vehicle ride comfort experiment of the articulated dump truck equipped with ipsilateral coupling hydro-pneumatic suspension is carried out.Simulation and experimental results show that the use of ipsilateral coupling hydro-pneumatic suspension can better improve the ride comfort of the dump truck and the effect is more obvious when the road conditions are bad.
