In this paper,select Zhidan medium silty loam and Yangling heavy silt loam as test materials,through laboratory experiments to simulate dam mud dewatering consolidation process in different soil water ratio(1.75,2.0,2.25) at different depths(0m,2m,4m,6m),measure mud compressibility,compression modulus,soil-water mud,bulk density and other related indicators.under the different external load conditions,by comparing the mud consolidation characteristic of same soil-water mud,in order to analyze the change law of the consolidation characteristics of mud at different depths;under the same external load conditions,by comparing the mud consolidation characteristic of different soil-water mud,in order to analyze the change law of the consolidation characteristics of different soil-water mud;by comparing the mud consolidation characteristic of between medium and heavy silt loam’s mud,in order to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of dewatering and consolidation and soil type the conclusions are as follows:Similar variation law of mud in medium and heavy silt loam:(1) Under the same external load conditions,the compressibility of different soil-water mud was decrease with increase of vertical press, under the vertical pressure lies between 0.025~0.05 Mpa,the compressibility of mud decreases significantly.when the pressure range is greater than 0.05 Mpa,the compressibility of mud changes slowly This indicates that in the pressure range of 0.025~0.05 Mpa,the compression performance of mud is significantly affected by the soil water ratio,when the pressure range is greater than 0.05 Mpa,the compression performance of mud is non-significantly affected by the soil water ratio.(2) Under the same external load conditions,the compression modulus of different soilwater mud was increase with increase of vertical press,under the vertical pressure lies between 0.025~0.05 Mpa,the compression modulus of mud decreases significantly.when the pressure range is greater than 0.05 Mpa,compression modulus variation gradually become a flat line.(3) Under the different external load conditions,the compressibility of same soil-water mud was decrease with increase of vertical press,under the vertical pressure lies between 0.025~0.05 Mpa,the compressibility of mud decreases significantly.when the pressure range is greater than 0.05 Mpa,the compressibility of mud changes slowly.the compressibility of same soil-water mudt are presented as 0kPa>32kPa>64k Pa>96kPa.(4) Under the different external load conditions,the compression modulus of same soilwater mud was increase with increase of vertical press,under the vertical pressure lies between 0.025~0.05 Mpa,the compression modulus of mud decreases significantly.when the pressure range is greater than 0.05 Mpa,the compressibility of mud changes slowly compression modulus changes gradually become a relatively flat line.the compression modulus of same soil-water mud are presented as 96 k Pa>64kPa>32kPa>0kPa.Different variation law of mud in medium and heavy silt loam:(1) The compressibility of medium silty loam mud are showed as 2.0 soil water ratio>1.75 soil water ratio>2.25 soil water ratio,compression modulus are showed as 2.25 soil water ratio >1.75 soil water ratio>2.0 soil water ratio,this indicates that the compression of 2.0 soil water ratio mud is the best,the 1.75 soil water ratio is the second,the 2.25 soil water ratio is the lowest.(2) The compressibility of heavy silty loam mud are showed as 2.0 soil water ratio>2.25 soil water ratio>1.75 soil water ratio,compression modulus are showed as 1.75 soil water ratio>2.25 soil water ratio>2.0 soil water ratio,this indicates that the compression of 2.0 soil water ratio mud is the best,the 2.25 soil water ratio is the second,the 1.75 soil water ratio is the lowest.(3) The compressibility of heavy silt loam mud(the mud that soil-water ratio was 2.0) is greater than medium silt loam mud’s,the compression modulus of heavy silt loam mud is smaller than medium silt loam mud’s,which shows that the compression performance of heavy silt loam mud is higher than medium silt loam mud’s.
