Taibai County is located in the southern mountain of Baoji City.It is also across two main basins,which is the Yellow River and Yangtze River.The prospect of Taibai County is famous for its towering peaks,splendid rivers and beautiful scenery.The purpose of building Ao Shan Ski Resort is to respond to the call of the government,improve economic development of local areas and strengthen the construction of ecological tourism,but the water volume distribution of the project region is extremely uneven in spatial and temporal and make it difficult to provide to the local people and enterprises.Therefore,it is necessary to repair water conservancy project so that not only provide people and entriprises with the water security but also promote local production and regional economic development.The proposed Longwanghe Reservoir is situated downstream of Longwanghe estuary village, Jutou town, Taibai county. It is Class V small(2) works, the reservoir complex largely consisting of a storage reservoir, an upstream intake, and a conveyance channel. A water resource supply-demand equilibrium analysis was performed for a design level year on the basis of synthesis of the hydrological data collected and with consideration given to water supply requirements. The overall layout of the complex was determined by taking into balanced account hydrology, geology, construction condition, and economy factors and it was determined to retain water storage basin + upstream intake scheme after comparing alternatives. The characteristic level and characteristic capacity of the reservoir were determined by storage regulation calculation.In earth-rock dam works, the construction materials can be sourced locally, which is good to cost efficiency and, moreover, an earth-rock dam is able to suit various topographical, geological, and meteorological conditions; for this reason, the storage reservoir is designed with an earth-rock dam. The traditional homogeneous earth dams are known for greater seepage, however, susceptible to seepage failure, thus not satisfying water pounding requirements. In consideration of this, the dam body and the reservoir area are to be treated using composite geomembrane for seepage control. The dimensions of the storage reservoir and the upstream intake were determined, the foundation seepage control solutions were finalized for major structures, and seepage flow stability computation was performed with respect to major structures.After the construction of water conservancy project,it able to provide the water volume of 262800 cubic meters for Tangkou and other five villages in Jutou Zhen of Taibai County and the water volume of 988300 cubic meters for Ao Shan Ski Resort.That is to say it can satisfy local people’s and enterprise water and provide an important guarantee for the development of regional economy and the mass life.
