Vacuum interrupter is the core of switch vacuum, which is widely used in the field of medium voltage distribution. With the development of technology, vacuum switch technology also got rapid development, higher voltage, larger current rating level, smaller size and more profession application. Higher voltage grade become one of research in the direction of the vacuum interrupter. This paper reviews the history of development and present situation of domestic and international vacuum switch and a vacuum interrupter, briefly introduces the basic theory and design method of vacuum interrupter. According to the level of development, the research present situation and the existence questions of vacuum interrupter, the research on 72.5kV high voltage vacuum interrupter and the goal of this paper is proposed. It provides reference for the research of high voltage vacuum interrupter by researching one kind of the superior performance of vacuum arcing chamber for high-voltage vacuum interrupter. the research on the key technology which effects the insulation properties、interrupter breaking performance and sealing structure of high voltage vacuum and the structure designing with CAD software. Besides, this paper also analyzes the ceramic-to-metal seal structure by software and the field of internal structure with ANSYS software.This paper introduces the history of development and present situation of domestic and international vacuum switch and a vacuum interrupter which analysis the researching problems for now as the main point, the basic structure of vacuum interrupter which provides analysis basis in accordance of the function of all the parts.In this paper the sealing structure of the product, structure of the electric field, magnetic field structure design was analyzed, analysis process and analysis method was draw up. ANSYS software was used to simulate the results of analysis. After that, the product structure was optimized. The automatic test procedure was designed to test and compare the key parameters of design. The results meet the initial setting goals, the theoretical basis and the solution was found.
