Wall Constructions Research Of Traditional Dwellings In The Linpan Region In The West Sichuan

The wall, as an important part of dwellings, can be used for not only enclosing houses and resisting wind and snow etc., but also delivering the regional information and intelligence of traditional construction methodology, echoing to the human civilization of the time. Research of the walls of traditional dwellings is the detail research on patterns of the traditional dwellings. For the traditional dwellings in the Linpan region in the West Sichuan, wall constructions can promote research of the West Sichuan dwelling system, that plays an important role in exhibiting towns and villages of the West Sichuan Plain style. Research of walls is like the first step of the long march of dwelling research. This paper on the Linpan region dwelling walls follows the clues, research origination-investigation-regional cause-external result-technical analysis-old and new development, one by one, exploring internal cause, external result, previous building method and future prospects of the dwelling walls of the West Sichuan Linpan regions.By exploring the construction of the traditional dwelling walls of the West Sichuan Linpan regions, this paper aims to enrich the systematic research of the West Sichuan dwellings, thus residential construction in the village can effectively refer to the essence of traditional dwellings, creating a natural and harmonious villages inhabited environment. The village dwellings are not only a regional history but also related to the future of the region. The research on the traditional dwelling wall construction in the West Sichuan Linpan regions must be based on the awareness and protection of traditional dwelling walls, seek the local flavor patterns and characteristics which are expressed by traditional dwelling walls made with traditional materials, technics and culture, and finally, while developing new types of dwelling walls, absorb the value of traditional wall construction to create a future new type of dwelling walls of both old and modern features and of strong regionalism.
