The 21st century is a century of new technology expansion. The most represents are software industry, Internet industry, information technology, communications industry, new materials technology industry and photoelectric technology industry. Software industry, which grows fastest and features most typical, has become the global indicator of industry development. China also follows the wave of Software Park construction, which causes widespread influence and attention. Software Park as an important place of software technology development and innovation, which contains the characteristics of intensive mental labor and high value created by the coordination of computer and network. Software industry activities shape the special software researches and development activities. In Software Park, brainstorms of wisdom, the development of the Internet, the progress of computer, and even the development of artificial intelligence need architect to offer software practitioners a scientific architectural space.What’s the role architectural space been playing in the development of Software Park? What kind of architectural space can stimulate the thinking, inspiration and innovation of software practitioners? What kind of architecture can make them communicate more easily? What the architectural morphology design of Software Park research and development building can bring them?With the thinking about issues above, and combined with the China’s and overseas related research achievements in this field, this thesis sets forth the research and evolution of Software Park R and D building, discusses its classification, and summarizes its characteristics. Through the on-the-spot investigation of Dalian Software Park’s and Shanghai Pudong Software Park’s R and D buildings, and the analysis of Google’s research and development headquarters in London, the thesis comes to main factors which influence architectural morphology design of Software Park’s research and development building, and summarizes design principles and strategies. In the end, the thesis leads to a specific case study of Chengdu tianfu Software Park R and D buildings’architectural morphology.The suitability brings by R and D buildings’architectural morphology will meet the need of software practitioners, and be the necessary requirement of Software Park construction, moreover, becomes an important element of Software Park’s future.The analysis and research offered by this thesis are helpful to improve the software practitioners’satisfaction of life and work, and promote the architectural design of Software Park’s research and development building.
