With the progress of science and technology, new equipment constantly emerging, the application of rubber air spring has been further expanded. Among them, the application of it on a new style high frequency broken hammer is a typical example. But studing on the condition is almost no, this paper aims at the analysis and research of a hyperbolic capsule type rubber air spring used in a new type of high frequency broken hammer damping system.Cord ply structure is an important component of air spring, while the building of it is always a difficult problem. Against this problem, the cord angle control theory analysis and the key steps on buiding are introduced in detail in this paper, the difficulty to establish the solid model of air spring is solved well based on CATIA software, and the entity model of the air spring is also established successfully.Previously much of the research on the rubber air spring is mostly based on the experiment and repeated test, this method wastes a lot of time cost and money cost, and it already can’t keep up with the pace of the advance of the times. With the development of computer technology and the maturity of finite element theory, research on air spring gradually turned to the finite element method and experimental technology. In this paper, the finite element model of air spring was established by ABAQUS finite element software which is widely recognized in the world, and some related characters were studied basing on it. The air spring internal pressure changing curve shows that the finite element model of air spring is right objectively. In addition, the charging, compressing and stretching process of the air spring are all according with the objective reality.The initial pressure is one of the main affecting factors on the elastic property of air spring, in order to study the influence laws on the elastic characteristics of air spring, this paper made an analysis on this influence factors. Results show that the increasing of the initial pressure can improve the bearing capacity of air spring, but changing the air spring’s initial inflation pressure can only make a small changing to air spring vertical stiffness and air spring initial internal pressure at 0.8 MPa is the best. Another important influencing factor on elastic characteristic of air spring is the number of cord ply. In this paper, the influence of cord ply number on air spring vertical properties graph, the influence of different cord layer number on air spring output acceleration curve and the output acceleration frequency domain graph of air spring with different cord ply number are obtained through the simulation. The results show that the influence of ply number on initial bearing capacity as well as the air spring vertical stiffness is relatively small, almost negligible, and air springs with 3 or 4 cord layers are best. In addition, the working frequency of the high frequency broken hammer is relatively high, the load with different frequencies may have a certain influence on the elastic property of air spring. In order to explore the influence on air spring of the factor, the effect curve of different load frequency to air spring output acceleration and the air spring output acceleration frequency domain curve under different external loading frequency are simulated in this paper. The analysis results show that external loading frequency has almost no influence on air spring output characters, which are mainly affected by their own factors.In order to further verify the correctness of the finite element simulation results, this paper did an experiment on the air spring studied, and the AVANT series MI-7016 data acquisition and analysis system which is professional in vibration and noise analysis is used to collect the experimental data, and the experiment data after signal fitering are rather relavant to the simulation results, which has further verified the correctness of the simulation model.
