Research On Connotation And Peculiarity Of Traditional Landscape Element Of Guangfu Village

Ancient village with long history is organic combination of material and intangible culture, is traditional village habitation formed in specific history and preserved to date, with important historic, cultural, art, scientific and social values. As a branch of Lingnan region, traditional landscape elements within Guangfu ancient village habitation contain rich historical cultural information, being carrier of folk culture. With acceleration of urbanization, many ancient villages with distinct characteristics in Guangfu region are impacted strongly by foreign culture, and traditional landscape elements in the villages were destroyed or are facing risks of disappearance. Under the context, research on Guangfu villages’ traditional landscape elements is very urgent. This paper takes traditional landscape elements of more than 20 ancient villages in the researched Guangfu region as objects of research, researches their peculiarity and connotation from angles of form, function, culture and art, etc. and concludes the characteristics and connotation of Guangfu village traditional landscape elements.Chapter 1 describes background, purpose and significance, scope, contents, methods and frame of research, defines related concepts, and conducts feasible research of research methods and expected results as well as the analysis. Chapter 2 describes the causes of landscape element, explains the influences of natural environmental factors such as natural geography, climate situation, hydrology and vegetation, natural resources, and social cultural factors such as clan system, geomancy culture, folkways culture and social economy on form of village traditional landscape elements. Chapter 3 analyzes landscape, plants, field, site, building, facility and featured landscape, street and alley, as well as other landscape elements, researching their peculiarity and connotations from aspects of form, function, culture and arts, etc. Chapter 4 collects detailed elements of buildings of ancient villages, and analyzes its connotation and peculiarity. Chapter 5 is about the conclusions and discussions, concluding the peculiarity and connotations of Guangfu village traditional landscape elements based on the above research.The research shows that overall peculiarity and connotations of Guangfu village traditional landscape elements mainly involve 6 aspects: first, their formation is influenced by regional natural and social factors; second, overall, traditional landscape elements have their own practical characteristic; third, in form, traditional landscape elements have aesthetic value, optimizing landscape; forth, culturally they express strong awareness of geomancy, feudal ethical code and cultural emphasis, embodying villagers’ worship of the nature, expectation of good life; fifth, historically, they reflect historical issues; sixth, they have great artistic value in ornament. Their ornamental forms are various; realizing coordinated integration of function, structural material and art by making artistic processing based on meeting function requirements; in theme and content, reaching the combination of historical realism, natural landscape and abstract drawing expression; in ornamental expression, embodying local characteristic and style of diversified image; in ornamental position, combining emphasis and general.In general, by researching peculiarity and connotation of Guangfu village traditional landscape elements, the paper concludes peculiarity and connotation of Guangfu village traditional landscape elements, playing an important role in protection, tourism development and inheriting historical contest, and is of important significance for our country’s new village construction and development.
