After decades of development, isolation technology has gradually matured in the theoretical analysis, experiments, isolation bearings designed, etc. Not only it’s used to design of new structures, but also has opend up new approaches for rehabilitating of deficient buildings and protecting of historical buildings. In recent years, base isolation of the lead rubber bearing is a kind of isolation technology which develops rapidly. It can effectively extend the structure vibration cycle, reduce the transmission of the earthquake energy to upper structure, thus ensure the safety of the structure itself and its inside devices. For the dissipative superiority of the isolation structure, the seismic structure system that utilizes structure and structural components to dissipate earthquake energy.This paper makes a multi-storey frame structure as a example, to study the dynamic characteristics and dynamic response of the isolation structure,. The main contents are following:1)The article by finite element analysis software SAP2000 modaling, do modal analysis and response spectrum analysis of the same frame seismic structure and base-isolation structure. And analyze the seismic response of the same structures under earthquake with EL-CENTRO wave, TAFT wave and Tangshan wave. Through the dates comparison, verify the effectiveness of the isolation and the feasibility of the isolated structure.2)Analyze the impact of the parameter variations of isolation bearing to the isolation structure. Those provide the reference information for the reasonable selection isolation bearing and for the structure optimum design in isolation design.3)Study the effect of the performance parameters of the bearing with different shear deformation to the isolation structure of dynamic property. Those offer the theoretical support for the restoring force of the LRB using modified bilinear mechanical model.4)Compare the column moment distribution of the seismic structure and the isolated structure under earthquake.Through the dates comparison of the column moment, column shear, beam moment and beam shear, provide the basis for isolated structural design adjusting of the upstructure rigidity.After further research, it is found that, the isolated structure is more suitable for intense earthquake zone. In addition, as the seismic damage of the upper structure was greatly reduced, the usability of structure can be significantly improved and its construction cost obviously reduced.
