Boasting the advantages of high efficiency, punctuality, comfortableness, pro-environment and large capacity, urban rail transit sharing rates is rising in urban public transport. People are right now demanding more convenient transportation, because of which urban rail transits are developing fast in China’s major cities. With the gradual formation of rail transit networks, the previously independently run lines will be connected directly or indirectly by transfer stations and passengers can also transfer to different lines through these stations. However, rail transit in China can not run round the clock at present, which means passengers are always unable to catch the last trains, a huge problem. In order to optimize and better coordinate different rail transit lines, this thesis tried to set more appropriate timetables for the last trains, satisfying passengers’needs and improving rail transit service.Based on studying the passenger flow of some of the stations of Chengdu Metro Line 2 in night time, rush hour and peak hour, the thesis found different passenger demand during the night. The thesis got to know passenger demand by analyzing the features and actions of the passengers. The thesis introduced the concept of complex networks, building rail transit network topology model with the knowledge of graph theory. Under the circumstance of invalid transfer stations, the thesis can figure out the characteristic lines, network efficiency and connected sub-graph. After the transfer stations become invalid, changes on the features of the whole rail transit network happen and the thesis quantified the positioning of the transfer stations in the physical networks and emphasized its importance. What’s more, the thesis analyzed factors that are related to the optimization and coordination of the rail transit timetables. Because the stations the last trains will stop at differ from the daytime trains, the thesis also analyzed the transfer relations of single stations, double stations and multi-stations. Based on the above analysis, the auther change the transfer relationship between different stations to time contraints. With the aim of satisfying the biggest transfer passenger flow and taking transfer modes into consideration, the thesis built models based on the timing constraint and time domain of last trains and wrote algorithm with matlab software. As a result, the thesis has reached a time sequence of the optimized last trains and the best intervals of two consecutive trains; based on the above findings and different importance degrees of the stations and in the aim of satisfying the major transfer stations’connection need, the thesis built models and figured out the coordinated timetables for the last trains. In the end, the thesis built a network topology model based on the rail transit network of Line 1,2,3 and 4 of Chengdu Rail Transit. The author figured up the statistics of the feature lines, network efficiency and maximal connected subgraph, based on the transfer stations of Chengdu University of TCM & Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, Luomashi, Tianfu Square, Sichuan Gymnasium, Chunxi Road and 2nd Chengdu People’s Hospital. The thesis ranked the importance of the transfer stations in the networks and analyzed the result and models under the following two circumstances:satisfying passenger demand and satisfying important transfer stations’connection needs. Finally, the thesis obtained timetable of last train in the urban mass transit network.
