With the rapid development of industrial technology, power system which ensures the industrialization quickly is faced with two challenges, the stability of power supply performance and the power supply quality. High-performance vacuum switching device is the key component of security and stability Smart Grid systems. Vacuum arc chamber is the pivotal element of vacuum switching device. The vacuum degree of vacuum interrupter is closely relative to its dielectric strength and engine performance of switching. When the vacuum degree is under some certain order of magnitudes, the vacuum interrupter will make the switching device unable to control on-off of power circuit. This will cause huge damage to the safe operation of power supply. Consequently, detection of vacuum degree in vacuum interrupter is off great value.This dissertation introduced the relative background knowledge about vacuum interrupter first, analyzed some kinds of common detection methods of vacuum degree. And Compared the principle of measurement and characteristic of different detection methods. Based on this, the dissertation studied on the principle of magnetic control discharge method detecting vacuum degree of vacuum interrupter, certified method feasibility theoretically and designed the functional control diagram of detection system according to the principle of measurement, available technology and actual project demand. Besides, this dissertation optimized system design and perfected system function on the premise of satisfying the project demand.Then, the hardware circuit of detection system was designed, which contained 20 kV high voltage pulse power supply, magnetic control current output circuit, display and communication circuit and so on. Close-loop feedback control 20 kV high voltage pulse output circuit is designed in terms of TV circuit, and multiple amplifier high precision signal acquisition circuit was designed to solve the small discharge current and its big fluctuation. The software of detection system was design on the basis of hardware. Ion current was collected via two different measurements. Detection system could process manual detection by keys operation and LCD display information. With this function, adding control software design of upper computer, realizing the command and data interaction between the PC and detection system through RS232 serial port.Finally, this dissertation finished the build of test platform, proceeded contrast experiment, then debugged and analyzed the key circuit of the detection system. Two kinds of tube type vacuum interrupter’ data was detected, the maximum error of the detection system is 5%, and the curve of ion current and vacuum degree was fitted. Actual measurement testified the reliability and veracity of system.
