Vision is an important human organ. Human and animals perceive the physical characteristics of the external objects to obtain kinds of information about the survival of the bodies. Visually impaired persons such as the blind also have a strong reading needs. The same information can be obtained from the application of information science and computer science. The use of embedded computer can be a very good design to meet the needs of the people of the program. The embedded computer is mainly based on ARM, ARM has powerful function, good performance, can reach GHz above, high operation speed, low power consumption, high integration.This paper chooses ARM embedded processor and Microsoft Windows CE operating system to design a special for the blind to use reading aids products. ARM processor is equipped with a 500W pixel CMOS camera and has a rich interface resources, such as USB interface, SD card interface and keyboard and other standard human-computer interaction devices, but also designed the WIFI and GPS extensions.In this paper, we first introduce the topic selection and the hardware structure of ARM processor, and focus on the analysis of the main processor of Samsung S5PV210, and introduce the overall design scheme of ARM embedded system. In the hardware system, the paper mainly introduces the realization and solution of the ARM minimum system, including the processor and the memory chip and the processor power module. In addition, the connection of the processor and the peripheral equipment and the bus structure are also introduced. In the software system, describes the overall structure of the embedded operating system and device driver development, mainly about the development of the camera driver. To make circuit according to the principle of the system hardware, in the design of PCB, fully take into account the signal integrity and EMC and other issues. Then to fulfill system BSP development, the kernel cutting, customization of Windows CE embedded kernel, to program for the camera driver, to generate image file of the operating system.
