With the growing demand for energy, the consumption of coal is increasing. But excessive exploitation of the underground coal will generate destructive effects to the local ecological environment and living conditions, resulting in the imbalance of ecological harmony and social harmony, and even bring a large number of unstable factors to the development of the country.Surface movement deformation caused by mining will affect the surface buildings, which serious can lead to the flooding, cracks, or even collapse of the building. However, the influence of the surface movement caused by mining subsidence damage range is limited, not all the houses surrounding in Mined-out area would receive the destructive impact of ground deformation, the damage of houses may also be caused by other reasons. This article embarks from the actual, combined with the damage condition of Mined-out area surrounding, made the research route and method. Based on the comprehensive collection of housing damage and geological mining data around the mined out area, the paper analyzes the concrete reasons for building damage by the two major aspects of mining and non mining factors. First of all, the scope of buildings damage caused by landmark actuating deformation is divided and delineated using probability integral method and numerical simulation method, which is also analyzed about whether the coal mining will cause damage to the houses in study area or not. And then the location characteristics, distribution characteristics and time series characteristics of the damaged houses are collected by the household survey. The influence of geological hazards on the damage of buildings was analyzed by geological survey.The result of the analysis shows that:the destruction of the surrounding buildings in the mined out area is caused by various reasons; Mining factors causing mild and above the scope of damage to building is limited, and the farther the distance from the mined-out area, the smaller influence of mining factors; Non mining factors of building damage have a great stack effect, such as the collapsible of housing foundation, the period of construction and the unreasonable housing structure, and so on, which also can cause damage to buildings. In this paper, the different analysis and evaluation methods of the two factors are studied systematically, which can provide reference data for the work of building damage identification in coal mining subsidence.
